Jasanpreet Singh lives in Bathinda with his sister and grandfather. Jasanpreet’s favourite colour is blue and he wants to be an Army Officer when he grows up. Jasanpreet’s favourite person in the whole world is his grandfather and he loves him very much. Unfortunately, Jasanpreet has suffered a great deal of sadness and loss. In 2012, Jasanpreet’s mother and father both attempted to commit suicide due to their crippling debt. His grandfather sold a piece of their land in order to pay for their medical treatment. In 2013, four months after his suicide attempt, Jasanpreet’s father suffered a heart attack and passed away. A year later, Jasanpreet’s mother also passed away, leaving him and his sister in the care of their grandfather. Jasanpreet’s grandfather is trying his best to raise his grandchildren despite his old age, but he has a very low income and very little financial support.
Living without your parents is hard enough, but growing up in poverty without their protection and support leaves children in a very vulnerable position. If you sponsor Jasanpreet today, SAF CANADA can make sure his grandfather’s financial difficulties do not affect this young boy’s future. He will be able to continue his schooling and have access to all the opportunities every child deserves. Your monthly contribution will cover his tuition fees, school supplies, textbook costs, and medical expenses for the child or any member of his immediate family.
