Hanan Ahmed lives in Hyderabad with his family. His favourite colour is pink and likes to play kabbadi for fun. When he grows up, Hanan wants to be a pilot. He studies very hard in school and last year his GPA was 84%! Unfortunately, Hanan, like many other children in India, are living in poverty. Hanan’s father only makes 6,000 rupees each month – that’s only $120 CAD. He works as a painter, but his health is not very good and he cannot work that often. Half of his income goes towards paying the rent. Hanan’s mother works from home, slicing areca nut and earns about 30-40 rupees a day. Hanan, his parents, and his 3 siblings all live off this meagre income. Hanan’s parents want a better future for their children, but she is beginning to feel helpless.
If you sponsor Hanan today, SAF CANADA can make sure his family’s financial difficulties do not affect this young boy’s future. He will be able to continue his schooling and have access to all the opportunities every child deserves. Your monthly contribution will cover his tuition fees, school supplies, textbook costs, and medical expenses for the child or any member of his immediate family. Educating young children is an important step in ending poverty around the world. Sponsor Hanan today and join SAF CANADA in the fight against poverty.
